  11. I would appreciate it very much if someone could give me a hand...

  13. I have just traded up from my USR Sportster 14.4 to the Sportster 28.8 w/ 
  14. V.34 & V.FC.  According to the box, I should be able to get up to 33.6 
  15. performance.

  17. I can't figure out how to reset the init strings in my comm programs to 
  18. take advantage of the increased performance.

  20. For surfing I use Trumpet Winsock 2.0B (unregistered) with TIA
  21. For other telecom I use CrossTalk for windows v 2.1.0.

  23. CrossTalk doesn't have an entry in the dialog box for this modem and 
  24. while Trumpet Winsock might have an entry, I can't figure out how to get 
  25. back to the set-up dialog where the modem list appeared.

  27. Can some kind person suggest a new initialization string for me for 
  28. maximum performance?

  30. As a secondary question, why is it that different on-line services set-up 
  31. different init strings?  Before I switched to the new modem, I noticed 
  32. that X-talk, compuserv, aol and trumpet all had slightly different init 
  33. strings.
