- I would appreciate it very much if someone could give me a hand...
-
- I have just traded up from my USR Sportster 14.4 to the Sportster 28.8 w/
- V.34 & V.FC. According to the box, I should be able to get up to 33.6
- performance.
-
- I can't figure out how to reset the init strings in my comm programs to
- take advantage of the increased performance.
-
- For surfing I use Trumpet Winsock 2.0B (unregistered) with TIA
- For other telecom I use CrossTalk for windows v 2.1.0.
-
- CrossTalk doesn't have an entry in the dialog box for this modem and
- while Trumpet Winsock might have an entry, I can't figure out how to get
- back to the set-up dialog where the modem list appeared.
-
- Can some kind person suggest a new initialization string for me for
- maximum performance?
-
- As a secondary question, why is it that different on-line services set-up
- different init strings? Before I switched to the new modem, I noticed
- that X-talk, compuserv, aol and trumpet all had slightly different init
- strings.
-
- In any event, thank you *very* much for any help you can provide.
